World Teachers‍‍` Day observed

The World Teachers’ Day or International Teachers’ Day is being observed yesterday  to honour the essential role teachers play in shaping society. Bangladesh is joining in with a series of programs, though the atmosphere is more focused on demands for change than on festive celebrations. This year's theme, "The Teacher's Voice: A New Social Commitment in Education," reflects the need for greater recognition and support for teachers worldwide. Also World Teachers' Day observed all across the country. News from our correspondents

 

Dhaka

The Ministry of Education organize a special event at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka to mark the occasion. Education advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud was chief guest, with Advisor for Primary and Mass Education Bidhan Ranjan Roy, Chairman of the University Grants Commission SMA Faiz, and the Head of UNESCO Dhaka Office attending as special guests. The event will include discussions and the honouring of exemplary teachers. Meanwhile, teachers across Bangladesh are increasingly vocal about their demands for better pay and working conditions. Teachers at all levels, from primary schools to universities, have raised concerns about inadequate salaries and the lack of career advancement opportunities.

 

Sreepur

A rally and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of World Teacher's Day at Sreepur in Gazipur. Mahbubur Rahman, headmaster of Kewa Purvakhand Government Primary School, gave a welcome speech. Moderated by assistant teacher Hamidul Islam. Assistant teachers Khalilur Rahman, Nazmul Islam, Selima Reza, Irene Sultana, etc. were present. At the end of the discussion meeting and rally, teachers were given special honors by the school. Mahbubur Rahman, Headmaster of Kewa Purvakhand Government Primary School, said in his speech that the right to education cannot be achieved without trained and qualified teachers. Teachers are the key to achieving equal and quality education for all. I remember with deep respect, those who were or are involved in the great profession like teaching. This day is very significant for teachers.

 

 

Sandwip

World Teacher's Day was observed in Sandwip. A rally was held to mark the day. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad hall.

 The rally and discussion meeting was organized by the upazila administration and upazila secondary education office. It was chaired by Sandwip Upazila Nirbahi Officer Reagan Chakma. Sandwip Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shafiul Azam conducted. Mahbubur Rahman, Aminur Rasul, Didar Hossain, Mainuddin, Didarul Alam, Omar Faisal, Ilyiash Sumon, Abdul Hamid and others spoke in it.Teachers of various primary, secondary schools, madrasas and colleges of the upazila participated in the meeting.

 

Kendua

World Teacher's Day was observed in Kendua, Netrakona. Discussion meetings and rallies were held yesterday under the initiative of the upazila administration. After the rally, the discussion meeting started at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. The discussion meeting was presided over by Netrakona Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Taniya Tabassum. Conducted by Assistant Professor Lutfar Rahman of Sandikona Higher Secondary School. Saiful Alam, Lutfur Rahman, Mokhlesur Rahman, Abdus Sadek, Shafiqur Rahman etc. gave important speeches on the occasion of World Teachers' Day. The time has come when the teachers of various schools, colleges and madrasas of the upazila were present.

 

Nagarpur (Tangail)

 

Teacher's Day was observed at Nagarpur in Tangail. Discussion meetings and rallies were held on the occasion of the day. The rally circumnavigates the important roads of the city. Golam Mostafa (Golam), the leader of teachers' organization, said, "From Teachers' Day, we are drawing the attention of all concerned policy makers of the government, that our kindergartens should not be subjected to discrimination." The role of our kindergartens in improving the quality of primary level education in the country is the highest. Here our teachers are not paid or evaluated by the government. Kindergarten students at the primary level are deprived of stipends while poor meritorious students study here. We need to eliminate this disparity. Bangladesh Kindergarten School and College Oikya Parishad Nagarpur Branch President Mir Obaid Hossain presided. General Secretary Gholam Mustafa (Gholam) moderated.Nur Hossain Mia was present as the chief guest in the event. Also present were Setab Ali, Abdul Karim, Shafi Uddin, Arifina Akhter Mitu, Sanowar Hossain, Saiful Islam, Solaiman, Shariful Molla Manik, Azim Hossain and other respected teachers.

 

Salikha

 World Teacher's Day was celebrated in Magura's Salikha. On this occasion, a rally of teachers came out in front of the Upazila Parishad yesterday. Later a discussion meeting was held Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasina Mumtaz presided.

Kazi Shafiul Alam, Mofizur Rahman, Anisur Rahman Milton, Motaleb Hossain Sikder, Afsar Ali, Biplab Kumar Roy, Khairul Alam gave welcome speech in the meeting. Baharul Islam, Mizanur Rahman, Kamruzzaman Nawab, Arun Chakraborty, Sajjad Hossain Caesar were also present. Also, the teachers of various educational institutions spoke The program was conducted by Headmaster Ashraful Alam Liton.

 

Khagrachari

 A rally and discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of World Teachers' Day in Khagrachari. A rally took out yesterday and circled the main thoroughfare of the city. Later discussion meeting was held. Khagrachari District Secondary Education Officer M. Alamgir Kabir presided. Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner Md. Sahiduzzaman spoke as the chief guest. Khagrachari Superintendent of Police Md. Arefin Jewel spoke as a special guest. In the chief guest's speech, Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner Md. Sahiduzzaman said that teachers are the bearers of civilization. Teachers are the conscience of society and civilization. A teacher is not only a teacher, he is also a man-maker. No one can become a man by disrespecting teachers. These teachers work to build the modern generation. Takes the nation forward. Up-to-date and world-class training, symposiums and workshops should be arranged for skill development of teachers. There will never be any improvement in the education system without the improvement of teachers. As a result, it is possible to realize the dream of building a new Bangladesh only by taking care of the teacher's skill development, independence and respect. The chief guest Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner Sahiduzzaman gave awards and certificates to 8 meritorious teachers in different categories at the end of the discussion.

 

 

Rangamati

 Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan said that World Teachers' Day should be celebrated in recognition of the outstanding contribution of teachers in the field of education and development. How much role they play in developing students and society. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan said these things in the president's speech at the World Teachers' Day discussion meeting yesterday. The Deputy Commissioner also said that teachers cannot be disrespected in any way. No one can be human by insulting teachers. These teachers work to build the modern generation. Moves the nation and society forward. He expressed hope that generations would benefit if various facilities were increased for teachers. A colorful rally was taken out from Happy Mor in the city on the occasion of World Teachers' Day before the discussion. The rally circled the main road of the city and ended at the office premises of the district administration.

 

Purbadhala (Netrakona)

World Teacher's Day has been observed in Purbadhala of Netrakona. Upazila administration and upazila secondary education office organized a rally and discussion meeting yesterday on this occasion.  The discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Nazneen Akhtar. Among others, Abu Bakr Siddique, Mofiz Uddin, Habibur Rahman, Noore Alam Siddiqui Mamun, Afsari Begum Panna etc. spoke in the discussion meeting.

 

 

Naogaon

 World Teachers Day observed in Naogaon. The discussion meeting and cultural programs were organized by the district administration and district education office. District Education Officer (Acting) Mahfuza Khatun presided. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal was present as the chief guest. Conducted by journalist Kayes Uddin. In the speech of the chief guest on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal said that teachers are the artisans of making people. I know we are ashamed to compare our teachers' salaries with those of neighboring countries. Even after that you have to work for the sake of the country. The beauty of this country is made by your hands. If you fulfill your responsibilities properly, you will see that you will not have this condition anymore.

 

Pekua

World Teacher's Day was celebrated in Pekua, Cox's Bazar. On this occasion, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held in Pekua Upazila Parishad hall in the yesterday morning. Pekua Girls High School Headmaster Abul Hashem presided. Pekua Upazila Academic Supervisor Ulfat Jahan Chowdhury was the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Aminur Rashid, Arif Ullah, Mohammad Yusuf, Mostafa Ali, Nurul Amin and others spoke. Speakers said that teachers are the backbone of the entire country and nation. Only teachers bring people from darkness to light with the light of their knowledge. Therefore, teachers day is an important and memorable day for students every year. Meanwhile, the teachers strongly demanded the government to eliminate the public-private discrimination. After the discussion meeting, a rally circled the main road of Pekua.

 

 

Chilmari

 World Teacher's Day was observed in Chilmari, Kurigram. Colorful rallies and discussion meetings were held to celebrate the day. At the end of the rally, a discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Tasbirul Haque Rumi, Upazila Coordinator of Upazila Combined Teachers' Society Against Discrimination. Nazmul Haque, Sajjadur Rahman, Nazrul Islam Sabu, Jinnatul Islam, Jagdish Chandra spoke in the discussion meeting.

 

Charfashion

 World Teachers' Day has been celebrated with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm in Charfashion . A discussion meeting was held afterwards. Charfashion Residential Model High School & College Vice Principal Ibrahim Khalil Sabuj conducts. Charfashion Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohiuddin presided.  World Teacher's Day has been observed in Gournadi, Barishal. A rally was organized by Gourandi Upazila Administration and Education Office yesterday. At the end of the rally, a discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abdul Jalil in the hall of Gournadi School and College. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Abdullah Khan spoke as the chief guest. Sohail Rana, Oli Ullah, Tashlima Begum, Yunus Mia and others also gave speeches.
